We look for writing which helps us understand ourselves and the world better and draws on our ability to empathise. Stories - real and fictional - that have the power to move and inspire.
Our writers explore themes of belonging and displacement, identity and commitment across a range of cultures and life conditions. Through the lens of individual memoirs we get a vivid sense of other times, other places. Those writing for children and about childhood do so unsentimentally, capturing a child’s perspective, with no ‘talking down’. |
